Who We Are
Our journey began in 2015, inside a LINC classroom at the Vanier Centre in Coquitlam. A small group of newcomers watched a documentary on food waste, and it opened our eyes to how much good food was being thrown away.
Motivated by what we saw, we started a small food recovery project called “Win Win.” We began collecting unsold food from grocery stores to make sure it didn’t go to waste.
At first, we shared the rescued food with fellow students in our LINC program. But as we kept collecting, we saw just how much more good food we could save, and how many more people we could help.
In 2016, we officially became Food Link Society (Charity), a non-profit organization committed to rescuing food and sharing it with people facing tough times.
Today, Food Link is a thriving charity focused on feeding people, reducing food waste, and protecting the environment. We support low-income families, newcomers, refugees, and seniors throughout our community.
Our team of volunteers comes from many countries across four continents. This diversity strengthens our mission to make a real impact by ensuring access to nutritious food and protecting what would otherwise be wasted.
We believe no one should have to struggle for the basics of life. Every day, we work to turn that belief into action. Join us in building a community where food is shared, not wasted, and no one goes hungry.
