Who We Are

Our journey began in 2015 when a small group of immigrants, during an English as a Second Language (ESL) training at Vanier Centre in Coquitlam, watched a documentary on food waste. Motivated by what we learned, we initiated a food recovery project called ‘’Win Win’’ gathering unsold food from grocery stores to prevent it from being wasted. What started as a small effort to provide free food for students in the program soon expanded, as we realized how much good, edible food we could rescue and distribute.

This led to the formation of Food Link Society(Charity) in 2016, a non-profit organization focused on food assistance for those facing financial challenges. Today, Food Link has grown into a charity dedicated to reducing food waste, protecting the environment, and supporting low-income families, immigrants, refugees, and seniors in our community. With a diverse team of volunteers from over numerous countries across four continents, we are united in our mission to make a meaningful difference by ensuring access to nutritious food and safeguarding resources.
We believe that no one should have to struggle for the essentials of life, and we work every day to make that belief a reality. Join us as we strive to create a community where food waste is minimized, and no one goes hungry.
