To Whom it may concern,
In the name of our Special Education Department, I am writing to express my sincere appreciation for the food truck charity program and to highlight the positive impact it has on the students we support at our high school. Our students greatly benefit from the program.
During the cooking block student use many of the ingredients received from the food truck to prepare certain meals. Students learn to follow instructions, communications teamwork, and independence, including food safety rules, oven and stove safety. For example, opening hot oven, use of oven mitts, set temperature, bake time, use the proper element and temperature on stove, etc.). Students also practice measuring dry and wet ingredients, cut, slice vegetables (onions, peppers, tomatoes) and they grate cheese.
