In February 2025, two of our executive team members proudly presented Food Link Society’s work at the Metro Vancouver Housing Committee Meeting highlighting a
partnership that has been growing strong since 2018. Through this collaboration, Food Link Society now provides free, recovered food to residents in 25 Metro
Vancouver Housing (MVH) sites across the Tri-Cities, Surrey, North Vancouver, Vancouver, Maple Ridge, and Richmond. 352 families, including 588 adults and 297
children benefits from the program. This program has been especially meaningful for vulnerable seniors and individuals with disabilities, who
benefit from receiving food right in the comfort of their building’s community or party rooms.
Coquitlam’s first community kitchen
Food Link Society officially opened Coquitlam’s first community kitchen on Tuesday,
February 18, at 107-17 Fawcett

Volunteers collect food nearing its best- before date from local stores, and under the supervision of experts recover perfectly good items. The kitchen transforms these into high-quality, affordable meals and appetizers for low-income families, homeless individuals, seniors, and
students across Metro Vancouver.
Big News for Metro Vancouver Housing Residents!
At Food Link Society, we believe in nourishing communities and expanding access to healthy and nutritious food. We’re thrilled to share that, starting this year,
we’ve launched food distribution programs at two more Metro Vancouver Housing locations. These new locations represent an important step in our mission to reduce
food insecurity and food waste across the region. We’re proud to support more families and individuals by providing nutritious, sustainable food options—one
neighbourhood at a time.
