A New Chapter, Same Mission: Immigrant Link Centre Society Becomes Food Link Society

Big news! Immigrant Link Centre Society is taking a bold step forward with a brand-new name: Food Link Society — or simply Food Link, as we’re sure you’ll soon be calling us.

Why the change? Over the years, our focus has always been clear: recovering food to prevent waste, feeding those in need, and creating positive environmental and economic impacts in our communities. Our mission is as inclusive as it is impactful, serving everyone, not just newcomers to Canada. We realized it was time for our name to better reflect the heart of what we do — connecting surplus food to people who need it most.

Let’s be honest, we thought about some pretty quirky options too. “Food Savers Extraordinaire” had a nice ring to it, but maybe too long for a website header. “Superfood Heroes” sounded like we were launching a health food brand. In the end, Food Link perfectly captures our role as a bridge between resources and resilience, waste and nourishment.

What’s changing? Just the name! Our commitment to fighting food waste and supporting vulnerable communities is stronger than ever. With the same passion that has helped us recover millions of pounds of food, we’re excited to continue this journey under a name that embodies our vision and values.

So, call us Food Link Society or just Food Link — either way, we’re here to serve. Thank you for being part of our incredible journey so far. Together, let’s continue building stronger, healthier, and more sustainable communities.
