COMMUNITY IMPACT THROUGH VOLUNTEERING
We had an inspiring Volunteering Day with the team from Save On-Foods, including Stathie Sgouraditis, Energy and Sustainability Manager, and a group of dedicated employees. Their generous support helped us recover and distribute food to individuals and families facing food insecurity. It was a day full of teamwork, compassion, and meaningful impact. We’re incredibly grateful for their time, energy, and commitment to community service. Thank you, Save-On-Foods, for standing with us in the fight against food waste and hunger!
GSFW FOOD RECOVERY DRIVE
Following the conclusion of the Grocery & Specialty Food West 2025 exhibition on April 15, a number of generous organizations across the Vancouver region came together to support a coordinated effort to donate surplus food items to the Food Link Society. This collaboration was part of a larger, ongoing initiative
aimed at reducing food waste while also helping to nourish vulnerable communities. With the invaluable support of the Second Harvest team, we successfully collected an impressive total of 3,733 kilograms of food for our charity’s programs and services.

It was a privilege to welcome Jodie Wickens, British Columbia’s Minister of Children and Family Development, to Food Link Society. Her visit highlighted the
importance of community-based food recovery efforts and the role they play in supporting children and families across the province. We appreciated the opportunity to share our mission, showcase our operations, and discuss how collaborative efforts can make a lasting impact on food security and sustainability in B.C.
She toured the Food Link kitchen and witnessed firsthand how recovered food is transformed into meaningful support and opportunities for those in need. Thank you, Minister Wickens, for your support and interest in our work
